Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve was created to preserve and protect 8.4 million acres of the diverse arctic ecosystems of Alaska's Central Brooks Range. It is acknowledged as the premier Wilderness park in the national park system and serves as the headwaters for six Wild Rivers.
Park visitors need to be informed of rules and guidelines at the start of their trip in order to be a part of ecological responsibility initiatives.
Goals
To address business and user needs by educating park visitors on ecological awareness and responsibility, hold visitors accountable so they leave the park in a way that is not disruptive, and allow park users to have a great experience.
